Message Waiting Light 7960 set

Can anyone help me turn this light off on a Cisco 7960 in the SIP format? There is no meessage waiting, and I don't want the message light to wear out....

The phone is also not aligning itself with the SIP providers voice mail service.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
