I have a phone that every day at 6:58AM and 11:58AM, the message waiting indicator light comes on and theres no message. Ive tried removing the mailbox, removing it created another one and recreating it, disabling the TN, and ive looked and no other voicemail boxes are pointing to this particular DN.

Any ideas?

did you do a search by msg waiting dn? if so someone has a MIK key..

Yes, I did and nothing came up. Im not sure what a MIK key is. This started in November. I took over the phone system in September so im fairly new to it.

an mik key turns on a msg lamp.. and mck key turns it off.. if the mail is not turning it on then a set is.. prt your digital sets, capture that to a file and search it for a mik. nul that key

You already did a find under: Message Waiting Indication DN, in the meridian mail?

Could this be some sort of automated attendant function? Like a hotel set up?

I'm had this happen also. It occurs during the daily audits. There is a mailbox with a message in it and it's turning on the light. It's most likely an unused mailbox associated with a person who's probably long gone but the mailbox still exists. You'll have to search MM for any mailbox which is set up to turn on your customer MW light.

If you go to the local user menu I think you'll see a "FIND" option. Using this will allow for several search critea to help you isolate the offending MB using your customers MW light. This feature allows several users to see if a message is waiting in a common MB.

Good luck, I've been battling with one of these on/off for a couple months now.

Don't forget to check all DN's on that phone as it may not be KEY 0.

I had the same problem and Ace is right. The phone had a dn programmed on key 10 that was key 0 on another set that was removed. It had a mailbox that kept lighting the other sets light.

Tried all that and no dice. The phone is actually my own and its been setup for a long time with no changes.

Check your class of service make sure you have it set to LMPN as opposed to LMPX and
XMWD as opposed to XMWI

Check all the key on your set to see if your set is the ONLY place they appear. If so they could still have a mailbox out there turn on the message waiting indicator. Check to see if there is a mailbox for any of them and delete it. Also in Meridian mail you can list more than one phone for a voicemail box to be associated with. Verifiy each of your extensions aren't listed as a secondary on someone elses mailbox.

The world's not getting any smarter: so you better learn to live with the stupidity...

My CLS is set for LMPN. Checked the voicemail and my extension is only showing up on my set.

the lmp cls is used if you need the overhead to work with a rmwk key.. is lamp audit on in your switch?
