somebody plugged the wrong set into a jack, now the set that was originally plugged into that jack lost all of that sets programming. Could this have been prevented if set relocating was turned on? Can the original g et its programming back?

If you unplug a set from a jack and plug another set of the same model into the same jack, the new set gets the programming of the old set.

If you unplug a set from a jack and plug another set of a different model into the same jack, the new set gets the default programming for its model.

Probably not.

Has the 'wrong' set been attached to the system before?

Automatic Set Relocation only allows you to unplug a set from a jack and plug the same set into another jack -- before you plug a new set into the original jack. The programming of the original jack is then exchanged with the one of the other jack.

Unfortunately, once programming is lost, there is not much you can do.

actually, the only programming the correct set lost was the inability to use the transfer soft keys to transfer a call to. The transfer option works manually by hitting transfer and entering the extension number.
