This must be fun one:)

Shopping lately i found that I am wasting my time trying to make my choice of lots of product based on

Extra
Ultra
XXL
Mega
Super
Balder then ever

and I am never sure if Mega superiour to Ultra or vice versa?

Whenever I see "new and improved" or "cleans better" I wonder if they're really saying "we're sorry for putting our name on that last product, we agree that it didn't work as advertised".

I ignore the "Mega / Super / Ultra" advertising hype unless it refers to the volume of the package, at which time a mental calculation of cost-per-ounce is performed to identify the bargain.

What is Balder than ever? It doesn't seem to fit the list.

Balder than ever?????

>Balder then ever

If I had to guess, I'd say it has something to do with MikeLacey [wink].

Balder then ever is about a taste of something I bought.
I think it was cheese product like sharper taste...Gold Fishes snack? I think it was it...

Imagine a Hair Spray that comes in:
Extra Hold
Ultra Hold
XXL Hold
Mega Hold
Super Hold

Which one is stronger?

If you think about it, "New and Improved" is a contradiction in terms since only one can be true.

This thread reminds me of a 4 Non-Blondes's CD called Bigger Better Faster More.

I'm Balder than ever. :S

Although I prefer "Follically challenged" :)

I'm past due for a head shaving, so I'm about 60% less bald. :)

My favorite in this vein was when Diet Dr. Pepper was advertised by saying that it "tastes more like regular Dr. Pepper.". No "now", no "than it used to", just that sentence fragment.

Were they pointing down the recursive rabbit hole, saying that Diet Dr. Pepper actually tasted more like regular Dr. Pepper than regular Dr. Pepper itself?

Probably not, but that's how I like to interpret it. :)

I think that applies -
And I scream at the top of my lungs
What's going on?

Of course I screwed up again. You know how sometimes you think 'I am not going to misspell this word' and here is is!
Sorry for confusion!

Had a conversation about a similiar subject the other day. What's the deal with "high speed internet"? Probably around 90% of internet is high speed. Is there some point we just call dialup "slow speed" and take it from there, or do we have to proceed through regular speed, high speed, super speed, ultra speed, lightning speed, x speed, and make new words to describe them since lightning speed becomes slow compared to the others? Adjectives should reflect on the noun comparative to the standard state of that noun, not become part of the noun itself...

I am waiting for the day that I hear a manufacturer say, "Our new product is so much better than the old, we are discontinuing the old product."

I am not holding my breath as I wait.

But anyway which word is the most powerfull?
Can we go from - to?
1.Extra
2.Ultra
3.XXL
4.Mega
5.Super
6.Bolder

It's like Alice in Wonderland (I forget which character).

A word means whatever I want it to mean.

Your quote is from "Through the Looking Glass", not "Alice in Wonderland". The speaker is Humpty Dumpty.

A nasty side effect is words like small, average and regular are eventually going to be phased out. For example try ordering anything "small" from a fast food restaurant.

[thumbsup2] Wow, I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time.
I think I've forgotten this before.

1 Extra (Extra large)
2 XXL (Extra Extra large)
3 Super (super market, huge, but not astoundingly huge)
4 Mega (one million times according to 5 Ultra (ultraviolet, ultrasonic - entirely different category than the norm due to the difference)
For I am pink, and my word is law...
