ok folks... bare with me please. I am very new to the Mitel world and getting frustrated. But here it goes... I will post another question for something else.

I am wondering if there is a way to make the ext and a cell phone ring at the same time when the ext is called?

if so... what's that feature called on my system?
Do I need licensing for it? in not, can you brief how to set that up?

I know if the Mitel 5000 world they call it dynamic ext..

thanks all

It is called dynamic extension however this is a subset of features
To do what you require you need to have external hotdesk licenses purchased.
As you have Rel 5.0 you can use try before you buy so you can set it up and try it to see if it works as expected.

As Supernova says its Dynamic extension. You need the EHDU or extenal hotdesk license to configure. You create an extension on the system and during the config you tick off a check box to indicate it is a EHD extension. There is a place in the form where the cell phone number is programmed. You then create a personal ring group with the same extension number as the desk phone. You enter the desk phone extension and the EHD extension ( created for the cell phone ) into the personal ring group. Now calls to the users extension will ring all members of the ring group i.e the desk phone and the cell phone. I would suggest if the desk phone is a multi-line phone you add a "handoff" key that allows you to grab the call answered off the cell phone back to the desk or send the call on the desk to the cell. Also you might want a presence key for the EHD so you can take the cell out of the ring group if you wish.
By default the mid call features are singel digit presses on the cell phone. We have found instances that some voices have triggered a feture( like hold ). We can't the default to use the systems feature access codes to trigger the mid call features.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.
