We recently had a lightning storm now we get a wave off after dialing 9 then 2 digits of the outbound #,
I tested with qwest they were good to the niu but could not loop the t-1 card.thru maintenance i tried a csu loopback but they could not see me i also busied out and restored the card.
So here's my three part question.
1.do i have a bad card
2.can i install a legend 100d card with a paradyne csu in place of this card.
3.Are there any other tests ican perform or just replace the card.

I assinged a dial out code 70 on phone near me to bypass ars and i still get a fast busy

Thanks for any help

Sounds like the 100R INA got partially fried. You can replace it with a plain vanilla T1 (DS1) and/or 100 DCD. Are you using the CSU/DSU component of the 100R INA?? If Quest does not require it - a plain DS1 will do. If not, get another 100R INA or a 100 DCD module - or a seperate CSU/DSU like the Paradyne 3160. If you don't have to use a CSU/DSU - you will probably need to change to a cross-over T1 cable between Quest's switch and your system's T1 module.

Thank you for the response,
I have a 100R INA board coming tommorrow, one of my concerns is that i dont think i am hitting the t-1 card (ie)amber light on the old 100d cards showing in use or is the card just fried.
We are using the csu part of the card,if i look under lines/trunks it says csu active and the other choice is assinged lines ,if i hit inspect lines 1 thru 24 appear with a (S) next to it,is that normal?

I was under the impression that a csu was more for a troubleshooting point,as you stated cant i deactivate the csu portion of the 100r card and go straight in?

You can deactivate the csu and see if it comes back up. I have seen those internal csu's go bad. If it is the csu and the 100R is good, you can hook-up an external csu to the current card or else replace the card altogether.

I replaced the 100r board this morning and everything works just fine, thank you for the responses.
