Sorry for the interruption gang but I find myself once again needing a solution. Tek-Tips is my favorite site to acquire such things but in extensive search and reading everything I have not found this solution.

Need to grab a .gz file from another server. I have permission and the proper download link but everytime I try lwp-download it just dies

I'm sure this has to be me and a stupid mistake I'm not finding but I have tried every conceivable code combination I could find and still no success.

I would paste the code used here but i've tossed out so much i only have the most recent failure code, so I'm treating this as starting from scratch.

Does anybody please have the full code to download and save a .gz file?

It would be like massive karma and wonderful appreciation if this is possible.

Thanks

Have you tried simply adapting the example code on the perldoc LWP page? Then you can just print the $res->content into a file, job done. I did the same recently to download some .jpg images.

Yes I did, It was the first option I tried. Got the file, totally corrupted.

Another option would be a really good thing about now.

Thank you for the response!

Finally got the solution for this. Thank you for the help guys! I'll try to get back in here soon to post it.
