Listener Problem

I think I did it this time and I don't know how this can be resolved.
I just installed Oracle 8i (8.1.7) but before installing, I removed an older version of 8i.
Now, after installation, listener is not working.
When I tried to configure it with net8 configuration assistant, I am getting error such as "TNSLSNR.exe.Entry point not found"
Now what do I do?
