Line Pickup 1

I have a Norstar 824DS with Software 5.1

How can I set it where if I have a active call at my station another phone can pick up on that line without it saying "In use by..." Thank you for any help.

feature 83 controls the privacy on a line. say ext 23 is on line 2 the person using ext 23 would dial feature 83 ( or feature # 83, I am not sure ) to remove privacy from line 2 for this one call, ext 24 is then able to press line 2 and be part of the conversation. this is good as a temporary one call deal. Unfortunatly I do not have the exact steps to do this permanently but it can be done....

Auto privacy (Installer password required)

This feature controls whether one Norstar user can select a line in use at another telephone to join an existing call. The default setting is Privacy on, so that nobody with a Norstar telephone can press a line appearance on
their telephone to join a call in progress at another telephone. Press CHANGE to select the setting: Y (on) and N (off). Programed in the lines section.

Tip - Users can change a line’s privacy setting for an
individual call using the privacy feature83.
