Hello,
I am sure this is an easy answer but not sure how to get it to work since I am pretty new to crystal. I have a database that outputs the following information:
Customer zip code and then date account opened.
So it looks like this: 12345 2011-08-08

I want to just display the zipcode on the output (which is to a letter) and not the date.

How do I do that?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
AJ

Hi,
Are they separate fields in the database?
If one field,is the zipcode ALWAYS the first 5 chars?
(If so then a formula like Left({Table.Field},5) should do what you want.)

Hi,
Glad to help
Editorial comment follows, feel free to ignore
( As a side note, when designing database tables, combining dissimilar data in one field is usually a bad idea, so let the developer know that a redesign may be in order for efficient data access)
