Is there any way to limit the size of users databases. We set the quota and threshold but cannot see any where they actually have an effect.

Thanks in advance..

The problem with database quota on mail files is that users generally still receive all mails although they are over the quota. The only consequences for the user are:
1. If he has exceeded his quota he can't save any more documents (but he can receive and send without save).
2. He periodically get's a message from the Administrator that he has exceeded the quota.
If he works only with a local replic of his mail file and never logs on to the server the quota will have no effect for him at all.

What you could do (if you have an R5 server): Set the parameter 'Obey database quotas during message delivery' in the message configuration document on the server. This will stop any(!!!) mail to be delivered to the recipient once he has exceeded his quota. I would be careful with setting this parameter as you could cause quite a stir in your company if the boss doesn't get an important mail in time because he has exceeded his quota :)
