I'm setting up a windows 2k server along with Exchange 2k and ISA 2k. The server will be an internal mail server, router, proxy, firewall, File and Printer sharing. I will have about 20 clients connected to this server.

Do I need to buy the win2k server OS with 20 Cals, exchange2k with 20 cals and ISA with 20 CALS?

You should look into Backoffice Small Business Edition (SBS). It has all the main backoffice products: Exchange 2K, SQL 2K, Win2K... but supports a maximum of 50 users and a 1 Gig SQL database. It comes with Backoffice CALs which are good for all of the software that comes with the package.

If you can get away with it (and if they still sell it), it's alot cheaper than buying the full fled packages and then adding CALs with only 20 users.

If your bent on ISA, then you can purchase it afterwards and you'll still come out paying less than if you buy all of them individually.

agreed-- also make sure your not going to ened to go over 50 CAL`s though as 50 is the limit for SBS and after that you HAVE to buy the full product and its a re-install.
