Legend Trunk-to-Trunk Transfer - Volume Very Low

We have a customer who wants to be able to do Trunk-to Trunk transfers. The problem is that when we set this up and attempt to do the Trunk-to-Trunk transfer the volume on the call is too low.

The scenario is that when a call comes into the Auto Attendant and they select a certain option which is for an outside number the first ring sounds fine then the volume drops dramatically on the second ring and stays that way.

Is there any way to increase the volume on these type of calls.

Thanks.

There is always a volume drop - since forwarding is equivalent to conferencing. But - if you have high quality connections from the Telco - on each line - there should not be a significant volume drop. If the line quality is poor to begin with - the volume drop can be severe - either on a conference call or a forwarded call.

I would check with your Telco - and see if they can give you a cleaner, stronger signal.

dostrow,

Please see my response to thread689-1299931 on this subject!

But in addition to that, some service providers, like Pacific Bell, have a feature called "CALL TRANSFER DISCONNECT", that can be provisioned on a per line basis. This feature is the same as "3-WAY CALLING" except you get the call transfer part that won't dump the call when you hangup!

Since you did not specify, I assume your trunks on the Legend are all analogue. So if your service provider has this feature or one like it, short of changing your lines to CENTREX, this may solve your transmission dilemma.

Hope this helps!
