Hi all, I just wanted to post my review of the Learning Tree Domino R5 course I just took last week. I thought the class was excellent for Junior Admins/Techs who were trying to learn good practices on connecting and setting up small Domino networks. The instructor was excellent, he knew his Lotus/Domino Material very well. The Learning Tree Staff were the most professional and courteous as well!
There is only one complaint I had about the course, and it was unfortunately the one reason I took the course. We finished reading/viewing slides every chapter, and when time came for the lessons in between, we would work at them for a very short while by ourselves, and then many times, abruptly move to the next chapters' reading. The end of every excersise was not completed. A few questions would be answered and we would move on to keep up with the schedule set for the reading. There was no complete review of the excersises to see if they were performed correctly for everyone. Many of the lessons had to be completed correctly and next steps were dependent on them in order to work as well.
Unfortunately for me, my company did not pay for this class, and I also had to use my own vacation days to attend. Had I the the knowledge the lessons would not be checked completely, I might have thought twice about attending. Not to mention the fact that my teams' hard disk died on day two and we had to play catch up ignoring the rest of the days' lessons/excercises so we could rebuild our groups/servers/users and hopefully catch up on day three.
Luckily for me I work a bit with the Notes client at the office and read a few books on the topics covered. If not for that I wouldn't have learned much because the pace of reading and excercises is fast.
I am satisfied with the topic material reviewed by the class and even hope they offer an Advanced R5 admin course in the future. But I will only attend if I know that the next time we will review what we did to see if it was done right.

Anyone have a similar experience?
