Hi
does anyone know a easy way to set up a large wireless network with several AP's and have them connected to eachother and share the same SSID?
and what brand works fine to do this?

I think all the major brands can do this... obviously cisco has software that can easily configure all the aps at once.

But you could really take any kind of AP and set it up on the same ssid but different channels.. save the config.. and then load it on all your other APs

OK, but who will a portable computer react when it comes into range of another ap with same ssid but another channel with higher strengt? will it switch to the other one automatic?

The wireless nic makes the roaming decision.
I'm told by default that Intel nic's roam more easily and Cisco nic's "stay home".
Wireless nics from different vendors behave differently.
So, you want to spread your access points and channels about so there is usually one good choice of any specific wireless nic while maintaining coverage.

Thanks for the input, got some good answers.
