LAN Port Test Device

Anyone know how to obtain one of these devices?

AT&T field engineer arrived onsite to troubleshoot an AT&T ADI router.
First thing he tested was the GI 0/0/1 LAN port by plugging in a very small testing device that showed him immediately that the port was down?

My first thought was, wow I would like one of those and then, how can I get me one of those?

Hi robertjo24, Well, actually the gizmo was very small and didn't have a entry pad or screen like what you mentioned, although that looks interesting too.
Never come across anyone that had one of those.

What I saw looked at a distance like a loop back tester. Maybe the tech inserted that into the LAN port to see if the LED indicated activity.

Not seeing any indication the tech assumed correctly the port was admin down.
