Joining Windows 2000 Domain

I have two clients WS with windows 98 installed with nerworking options. Verification of TCP-IP settings and client network setup checks out, but unable to join Windows 2000 Server domain. The Alert "No Domain Server Available for ........" displayed when trying to log on. Have modified LMHOSTS file to include the IP address and other system information. Does anyone have other recommendations?

Have you set the TCP/IP settings to include the IP address and any WINS/DNS/Gateway IP addresses? Can you Ping the server?
