I am running Java version 8 update 66 (build 1.8.0_66-b18) which is current.

Both Firefox and IE take 30 seconds to load all the items/choices on the front page of BCM50 rls 6.
So at first the java box comes up under the Welcome to BCM but it is blank, wait about 30 seconds then all the items come up and the login pop up shows up.
Previously I had thought it was just not working as I didn't wait 30 seconds.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Java but same issue.
I installed a BCM50 r6 today and my clients new laptop has exact same issue on their IE browser, didn't have java at all....just downloaded and installed fresh today.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? and on this version of java?

My PC is clean as a whistle., ran everything.

Seems like it started a couple months ago.
45 seconds today.

Need to narrow down if specific version of Java or not.

I'm on Windows 10 32 bit for one of my laptops and EM loads up in a few seconds as does Firefox etc. I know it has all the updates done. I did find that to get EM to work that I had to change the shortcut details.

My desktop shortcut details are "C:\Users\Admin\.bcm\BEM\bin\run.bat

Also the Java security settings were modified to allow the BCM IP address in the Exception Site List.
The security settings were changed from Very High to High.

I think curlycord is referring to the BCM page in the browser interface. Element Manager comes up in just a few seconds for me, but I just browsed to the IP address of my BCM50 with Firefox and it took about 45 seconds to finally fill in. My security is also set to high, and I have the BCM50 in the Exception Site List. It would be nice to resolve this problem. I'm sure it has to do with all the security Java implemented in the last couple of years.

I have exactly the same problems with Java!
All my computers are clean.

Unable to find an older version of Java JRE.

same problem here, as long as the program eventually loads, I am fine with it.....but I am afraid one day I won't be able to access it again.

Another reason I love the UCx! Web Gui based!

Install any older version, leave the latest alone.
Then
Open java
Go to java tab
View
And Disable the latest

Try EM

It was the Java update that screwed up BEM. My OS is Win7 Ultimate 64-bit. I discovered that my earlier version of Java was 1.8 update 66 64-bit. I applied the update right from the Java control panel. It installed 1.8 update 71 32-bit. I uninstalled the 32-bit version and reinstalled my old 64-bit version. Now BEM works again.

Update: Now I find out that the 64-bit version of Java doesn't work in Firefox because it's 32-bit. But it worked before I did the update. Now I have uninstalled the 64-bit version and installed the 32-bit version. Now everything is playing nice.

I love technology. Time for a beer.

Well I am also Win7 64 but using 32 Java

I uninstalled Java 8.66 using the Java site and installed 8.71 but same issue with all browsers.
Downgraded Firefox, same issue

Went to connect EM and it wont connect to anything, cant determine device type.

Deleted EM, reinstalled....same bloody error.

Deleted EM and Java, rebooted
Re-installed both, same issue.

When I had the 64-bit Java installed EM worked fine, but Firefox wouldn't. When I uninstalled the 64-bit Java I then installed update 66, 32-bit and everything worked again. My Firefox is at 40.0.3 with updates turned off because of the changes they made to the tab behavior in later updates. I've also turned off Java updates because I'm tired of fighting this crap. Email me privately if I can help you figure out your problem.

Installing 7.30 64 BIT fixed only Element Manager for me....I think I have corruption, time for win repair.

Thank You Curly for the link.

My God, there must be at least 50 downloads for Win 7.
Did you figure out which one is needed to correct the Bcm bug with EM?
