Hi All,

Trying to set up a J179 on my IP500 V2 dem kit running R11, not done this before and a bit stuck, I have managed to get it to download its software and i get to log on screen where i enter user name and password and then it check login credentials and then comes back with "Aquiring Service". I think its something to do with SIP proxy server but as im new to this one any help would be appreciated. I have checked the Avaya Knowledge base but still no Joy.

Thanks

Turn off TLS, use the 46xx files to force it back to TCP or get a UCC Ceretificate installed on your system.

One of the above will get it working.

I think the search facility on this forum must be broken [3eyes]

What are you entering for user name and password? Hopefully not the user name or password.

User name = extension number
Password = extension Phone Password

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

not very experienced with this so how do i edit the 46xxsettings file and where is it?

did you check (turn on) "SIP Registrar Enable" at System - LAN - VoIP?

APDS - Avaya Midmarket Solutions
AIPS - Avaya IP Office™ Platform
ACSS - Avaya IP Office™ Platform

Yes Sip register enable is switched on

I had trouble with this after I moved a phone from a test system to a customers system. Try resetting the phone. Make sure you are using the users extension number and the password is whatever was set up under extension, NOT the telephony login code under the user.

On powerd by solution,

If you disable TLS, make sure you remove the provisioning server address from the B179 cause if not, it will pull an config from IPO and bring the B179 back to TLS.

Unless you completly disable TLS on the IPO or manualy edit the 46xxsettings.txt
