Is there a way to have more than one item reduce the count? In other words, we serve lobsters as an app, side, and entree, but would like a count on only one.
Not sure I understand you question. either you want it to count down no matter which of these 3 items or you only want it to count on certain items.
So here is how for either way
Create item call lobster, price it by modifier of the following, as side $$, as app $$ and as Entree $$. Put prices on modifier screen and not item and force to choose at least 1 mod. Have any other mods needed on other modifier page. base the mods on how they are having the lobster. As entree might also have side dish choice.
This way counts the items no matter how its ordered
Create 3 different Item numbers for Lobsters
lobster app
lobster side
Lobster Entree
This way counts each item separately.
The restaurant currently has 3 different items for lobster side, entree, or app. I think given the current setup, I would have to split the count across items. I suppose there is no way for Aloha to know that a lobster side reduces the availability of the lobster entree without redoing the lobster ordering process.
If you setup the item the second way i suggested them your item count down would work the way you want it to/ Your product mix report would not be accurate, but your foh item count would be.
