we have an IP406v2 with release 3.1(56) fitted with a dual-PRI (60 channels) module and one QUAD-BRI (8 channels). There are also 4 Digital Station modules with 128 54xx series digital phones. For the past few days, there has been an increase in the number of incoming calls and it seems that at their peaks, the phones just freeze and all ongoing calls are dropped. Eventually, the phones are functional again after 20-30s. We have changed the control unit by a spare one and the problem repeats itself.

What is the maximum traffic that the IP406 can support? Do you think that if all 60 + 8 channels trunks are busy, this can cause a depletion of all time slots?

If any thing I have seen this but usually due to a timing issue on the PRI's/BRI's.

Always ensure you have one set as a suitable timing source and the others as fallback or unsuitable.

Worth checking in the first instance.

Note that this setup has worked perfectly for over 1.5 years until very recently.

My post still applies. :)
