Hello Team.
today i got the IPO Avaya Softphone License in order to setup a user to use his macbook for basic telephony.
I need some help with the steps needed to complete the task.
the license is already installed on IPO 11.1.1.1 and the Avaya Workplace application already installed on the macbook.
What are the next steps from now on? Do i have to create a new extension and a new basic user with login credentials ?
then configure the Avaya Workplace for basic telephony?
the macbook is in the same network as the IPO500V2.

thanks in advance.

Use the same user, make that a power user and set the password underneath the name.
In the LAN VoIP tab make sure you have the SIP registrar turned on.

So i need 2 licenses? one power user and one for the softphone?
i am trying 2 days now and it is not getting registered. I have essentials and standard IP users , no power user.

thanks

Nikos

You need Preferred Edition to use user licences.

I'm sure many sites can't justify the cost if they just want soft phones or the user licences.

I have created an extra SIP user but still does not register.
Using the same laptop with same softphone installed i can connect to another system that has Preferred edition and power users.
I am confused, documentation states that softphone can be used on essentials with the licence of softphone , which what i have but still cannot get it registered.
