I have a customer who has a BCM 50 with 5 ip licenses. They currently have 5 ip phones connected to it. Obviously, to add more ip phones, they would have to purchase the keycodes. However, shouldn't they be able to just unplug one from one area if they need one in another spot? I had him try, but it's not working and even though the one ip phone is unplugged, it still shows it active in the system programming. Do the licenses follow the phones?

If this is another phone then you need to deregister the IP set to make a different DN. If just moving and you get nothing on the screen then do as curly says check the patch pannel to see if the jack is connected. And yes it should move with the phone.

cook is right!
You have to derigister that specific DN to make a new ext on the existing IP phone as well as replacing a phone or just wanting that DN to work on a different IP phone.
