This happens when the firewall resets (for security maybe) and the 4602 phones need to be manually reset (press # twice). The 4610 phones seem to override this problem. All ip phones use static IP's. Can i do something from the IP phones side or it's a firewall issue?

Any ideas?

Thanks

iacovides,

what firmware version are you running? both on the c-lan boards and on the phones.

iacovides,

pretty outdated ones. what communication manager version are you running?

Communication Manager is 1.2
Indeed the C-Lan is outdated (now it's FW16 i think)
but the phones which are 1.8.3 are only outdated by the latest version 2.3.

But then why the 4610 (ver. 2.2 and 2.3) don't need to be reset?

iacovides,

first, you need to update your communication manager to the latest cm1 load, which is 1.3.2. previous versions (including yours) had known problems with firewalls and especially nat schemes. second, try to update c-lan firmware to the latest load supported by cm1 (don't assume it's fw16). and third, try to update one 4602 to 2.3 and see what happens. afair there was similar problems in old firmware but was fixed somewhen around 2.0 or 2.1.

I have updated the c-lan to fw16 and 1 4602 phone so far. The problem still exists, and even the updated 4602 (2.3) is giving an NAPT error now and doesnt register. The latest CM1 load (1.3.2) refers to Media servers only in Avaya support and i coulnt find a description for Definity G3si R12. I assume that this update is crucial and after that the problem might be solved. I will let you know.

Any ideas are appreciated

basicly, where s you DHCP on Wan and behind your firewall or on your lan with a lease time setup for 24 hours.
Because Ip phones reset at each end off Dhcp Lease.
FYI i setup it for infinite lease.

Hope it can help you.
Michael
