I'm having a bit of trouble with this.. I'm trying to install a new 10GB hard drive on an old P166, but for some reason, Windows 98 isn't recognising it.
The BIOS autodetects it without any problem, so I'm assuming the motherboard supports it. So now I'm wondering if I've missed a setting in windows, or haven't configured something quite properly.

Anyone have an idea what could be causing this?

BIOS sees it, operating system wont see it until it is formatted.

Requires a recognizable partition to be seen. Use fdisk, option 5(2nd disk) create partition. Ed Fair
