How do you install new PPD for a new printer without having to go thru complete re-install on Pagemaker (PC v6.5+)? (We purchased new Ricoh AP1600 laser printer and installed PostScript driver from Ricoh website. However, the PPD for the Ricoh does not show up in the PPD dropdown listing when I go to print to this new printer in Pagemaker.) There must be a way because Pagemaker installation only gives PPDs on their CD.

This is a problem that's not too well documented but relatively easy to solve. When you install your ppd, it is placed in the Windows\System folder. You need to find it in there and copy the ppd into your PageMaker folder at PM65\RSRC\USENGLSH (or whatever language folder you have installed)\PPD4. Be sure you COPY it, don't MOVE it, because you need a copy in both locations.

For some reason, Adobe has not set up their installer to do this work for you. Go figure?!
