Input Masks

Hi,

Ive been trying to create an input mask for a reference document field of the syntax:

Store-Sku-Date-Item

The input mask is as follows:

L000-CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC-000000-09 or

L000-####################-000000-09

a sku can be anything from 8 to 20 characters with either all digits or a mixture of digits and letters.

the test example ive used is:

V115-23456789-041005-1

this is generated for both in the data netry screen and in the table as:

"V115-23456789-041005-1 - -"

Is there a solution so I can make it read:

"V115-23456789-041005-1"

?????

I found some info on the following thread, but my problem is that the sku field can be of any length from 8 characters to 20 characters.

Hard to tell with info supplied, but you can remove the dash with an update query on the field. Just set Update To: as follows:

CODE
Right([FieldName], 13)
This is good when parentheses are included, if not, change the count to 11.
