Hello all. Need a to know if this is possible. I have tried with no luck.

I need to create a input mask in a table. the input mask needs to be 16 characters long and be alpha-numeric and needs to have dashes in it. These dashes ARE counted as part of the 16 char. The out come would be something like

1234-56-A78-4321

Note the 9th character will always be a letter.

Is this possible?

Thanks,

Bill

Thanks for the reply

By doing this, would it make the dash lines a default so all you would have to do is enter numbers/char and not the dashes?

Would the input mask filed in the table view be the place to put this?

Thanks,

Bill

Yep I'm pretty sure I have done this before, if you put in characters like - it will put them in for you.

Try it out let me know

if it doesn't work i will try and dig out some old projects

Transcend,

Thanks. That did the trick. Exactely what I was looking. In the above senerio, is there a placeholder or wild card that can be used for either numbers or letters in the case?
