Hi,

I have the care of a Partner system which sometimes takes incoming calls and gives the caller a goodbye message and disconnects. If someone internally grabs the line the call can be taken. The message is not something recorded locally.

The system:
1 -- 103R
1 -- 308EC
1 -- Voice Messaging System PC Card
1 -- Remote Access PC card

We have six incoming lines and sixteen physical extensions, not counting a loud-speaker paging system.

Judging by the frequency of the problem, I'd guess it has something to do with a lesser used line (down in the telco's hunt sequence) not being programmed correctly.

Unlike other problems listed here, the message is loud at both ends and it is the first thing the caller gets.

Thanks for any help.

Be well,
rir

Check your voicemail ports. Make sure only extens 78 and 79 are the only ones assigned.

Thanks 1043.

I find #78 and #79 are the only extensions assigned to hunt group 7 (Procedure #505).

Under Transfer Return Extension (#306), I found all extensions referring to themselves. I'm not sure what that does, all the "real" extensions also refer to themselves. I have just changed #78-9 to return to #10, figuring it can't hurt much.

Be well,
