Can someone tell me how this can be done. I've read about importing data sets into photoshop, but I haven't figured out how to do it. When I go to file>import> I'm not giving the option option to select "Variable Data Set", like the Photoshop Help states. I am only given PDF Image, Annotations, HP ScanJet 3970 TWAIN, WIA-HP ScanJet 3970, WIA Suport. I am making gift certificates for my company for Christmas to give to their employees. I would like to have employee's names and their store division to be automatically printed on the certificates when we run them through the printer. Any ideas on how to accomplish this or have any advice on why I can't get the "Variable Data Set" option to appear under my import menu? Thanks

Don't do it in Photoshop. A data merge like you descibe can be done easily in Pagemaker 7. Save the photoshop file as a TIF and place in PM. Then open the data merge palette (saved in CSV format), enter the data fields in the PM document, format font/size etc and tell it to merge.

Is there any way you can use InDesign instead of Pagemaker. I have the Adobe Creative Suite Standard Edition.

Photoshop (well, Imageready) can produce data-driven graphics, but it's only really suitable for web graphics, not print.

For InDesign, check the help files for information on working with XML files. I think that's the only way you can do it without third party tools, but I could be wrong...

I believe there are scripts (free?) at the Adobe Studio Exchange website that enable you to do data merges in ID.
