I am not sure where I should be asking this question so I will ask it is several places.

I have a foxpro 2.5 dbf file with a memo field in it. I am trying to import it into an Access database and I am not having any luck at all. I either get a "Disk or network error" or "Format of Memo file doesn't match specified external format."

Does anyone have any ideas of what is wrong??

Thanks

Brian

Did you try opening up in Excel first? Often Excel has an easier time getting stuff in, then once it's there tis a very simple thing to go to Access.

I can get it open in excel, however, It does not import the memo fields from the dbf files. I think we have decided that we don't need the memo fields for this paticular import so this is how we have it working now.

Thanks

Memo fields aren't stored in the DBF file. They are stord in a separate DBT file. You will have to open the DBF in it's original application (Lotus Approach?) and export the data from there to a text file. Then import the text file.
