Import Date Problem

Hello!

My table gets it's records from a text transfer. One of the fields is a date that comes into the table in YYMMDD format. The data type of the field is text. The date/time type screws up the date and causes import errors. My question is how can I format the date once it's in the table? Or can I use a query or macro? Please be specific, I'm new at this. :)
