I have a very simple database with just a few tables. Table A has a field that is linked to Table B through a lookup field. I want to populate the database by importing a few hundred records from an Excel spreadsheet. All this works fine. However, the data imported to the Table A field containing the lookup does not appear to be linked to the (identical) data in Table B. There is an entry in Table B for each identical record in Table A.

Any thoughts?

Interesting, but if lookup fields are evil, what should I do instead?

You can create relationships between tables and use forms with combo boxes.
