I would like to know what everyone's take is on image archive. Do you archive to multiple copies? DVD or CDR or other? How do you keep track of your work (ie, easily find one image out of thousands and thousands you might have)? What type or brand of media do you use? Do you prefer multiple hard drives instead of CD/DVD/Tape?

(Try it my way, it might work...)

Hard drives fail. Use them only for current work and do not expect them to last more than 2 years. At present, the best archival material is optical since magnetic media can be affected by EMF. ...and of course within optical media, there are different quality levels: you get what you pay for.
