Are there any known bugs or issues when running IIS on the same server as backup exec 8.5? How far should you go with service packs before running into a full backup exec upgrade and purchase. still trying :)

Backup Exec should run fine with IIS.

As for service packs im not sure what you mean. Do you mean the Backup Exec Builds??? or the Microsoft Service Packs??

hi, I mean the backup exec builds. Thank you for replying. (sorry lingo confusion) We have 8.5 and I am trying to figure out if it cuts it or is it outdated and if I should add builds and how to. If version 8.5 has limitations, having a hard time figuring out what they are. My needs are simple, just to back up the content of the drives on this server. (I used to use the 2kbackup util but it only worked about 95% of the time with unexplainable quirks. We had a copy of veritas so am giving it a try)
The server is used as a web server with a custom web component that I do not know much about. Info gathering at this point to try and figure out if the shutdown of the web pad is co-incidental or a result of backup exec. Happens every couple of days and then I need to reboot the server to get it going again. Oh, then of course I can't because Backup Exec won't let go of its processes by the looks of it. Have had to do a cold boot a few times now!!
