IE 6 on an XP SP2 box:
I'm having a problem with IE 6 not refreshing websites. For example, if I visit a website early in the day, and changes are made to it (such as a news site), when I re-open the website later in the day, I get the cached site and have to manually refresh the browser to get the latest updated site. Every time I return to a page I've been to before, I have to manually refresh it to see any changes.

I've checked every setting I can think of, searched the net for similar issues, but have not found a resolution. I was wondering if anyone might know of a solution (that doesn't require me to upgrade to either XP service pack 3 or IE7). Thanks

I know you said youve already checked a bunch of settings but there are a few suggestions i could make like going to
internet options in IE, settings under temporaryinternet files and making sure the "every visit to the page" option is clicked.
You could also try deleting files and cookies, restart IE and go to a couple pages to see if the issues reocuurs, then tell us what the results are.

Wow... I never noticed the setting to check for new versions of stored pages when visiting a website, that was exactly what the problem was. How it got set the way it did is still a mystery, but at least it's set the way I want it now. Thanks!

No problem, glad it worked out anyways.
