I need db with the What’s This btn working with ContextID help topics

Hi All,

I am trying to use the [COLOR=red yellow]What's This[/color] button on an Access Form to return [COLOR=red yellow]ContextID PopUp[/color] help topics when you click the What’s This button and then click on a Control on the Form.

I have created the html .chm help file and it contains the necessary popup topics which have an ID number. However when I set the properties on the Access Form to the .chm file name and the Controls properties to the appropriate popup topic id it does not work.

I have tried every conceivable method and variation and still it does not work. I have read and followed countless articles including the many Microsoft ones but to no avail.

Please can somebody provide me with a sample database and a simple .chm file with a few basic popup help topics that show's the What's This button actually working with ContextID popup help topics as this is the only way I am ever likely to see this working.

Hi Zameer,

Thanks for the reply.
I really have tried everything (I think) including this, which does not work.
You should not have to write any code.
The What’s This button should simply require the .chm help file and form/control properties set.
I really do need a sample database showing this working.

Hi Zameer,

I have seen the Microsoft article and worked through it (along with countless other Microsoft and other articles) none of which actually work (for me anyway).
As for the forum I seem unable to extract an example database?
Thank you for your continued help on this as I do need to know how it works.

Hi Zameer,

I have also seen this article. It is an interesting one because it suggests that it is not possible to make the What’s This button work.
I was hoping that someone had a working example of a database so that I could see this working because I have tried everything.
If you can put together a What’s This button example I would very much appreciate it.
