I Can´t receive email!!!

Hi!

I can´t solve this problem!!
I can´t receive mail ( but i can send very well )
The version of groupwise is 6.5 and the Netware is 5.0
The netware server is connected with a firewall.
In this firewall is confired to fowarded the port 25 to my netware server with groupwise system, but some is not working.-
I test the conectivity with the aplication GWIP and all test is Ok
I ping to a external domain "for example and all work Ok
Any idea of Why it not working?

Port 25 is your SMTP port for outgoing mail. Incoming mail should be going to port 110.
 
A question.-

For send email, ort 25 should be open and for receive mail should be 110??..
THe port 110 is POP3, so that I need have this port open if i not use a email client like outlook express. i use groupwise client and I see my email from my internal network.-
 
as should they the port that i would have in my firewall open ( or fowarding in my case ) for receive and send email??
 
I am using GroupWise client as well. I have my router set to forward to TCP & UDP ports 25 and 110. All is working fine for me.
 
Ok..but the port 110 only is necessary if tou don´t use Groupwise client and in your place, you use another client for check your emails
Lamentably, my problem continue.....
If somebody have another idea, I go away it to be thankful

I have ONLY GroupWise client here. The as well comment meant "as well as you". Sorry for the confusion. SMTP Port 25 is for OUTGOING mail. I would suggest that you try setting up port 110 in your router. It won't hurt anything to give it a shot. Routers and Server configurations can be varied and complex so trying to help without seeing all the other configs is rough. I can only speak from my experience. This is what has worked for us and it is a quick and easy thing to test.
 
TCP port 25 forwarded to your GroupWise server should be all that is needed, assuming that routing is set up, and there's no filtering on the firewall or server.

From an external host try to telnet to the public address of the GW server on port 25. You should get a reply and be able to type in a mail message. If not, there is a routing or filtering problem. If so, the issue could be with your public DNS setup.

Then....only port 25 should be open to send and receive mail??? ( if this is correct, then the problem is in the router that no fowarding the ports ).-
If somebody have any new recomendation, is welcome :)

Correct. Maybe check the router configuration? Check the filtering as well as the NAT and forwarding.
 
What is the Mfr./model of your router?
Are you accessing the Internet through a proxy server as well as the router or just the router?
Have you checked your GWPROB directory for messages there? If there are incoming messages here then they are making it past the router and the problem(s) at the server level but I too suspect problem is in router config somewhere.
 
Perhaps we should ask a more basic question:

Are you able to send/receive INTERNAL email? If not, then this is probably a problem within the GroupWise system, not a router problem.

I can send/receive internal mail with any problem.-
Thanks to all for yours answers, finally, the problem it solved ( i touch wood ), but the problem was the router.-
I wait that this problem not go back.-
