Hi,

I have a First Aid number set up that when dialled goes to a specific hunt group with all first aider ext numbers.

My problem is that if a phone is not on cover (person is away from desk, or forgot to put this on)the phone just rings out at that extension and does not move to the next person in the hunt group.

I have tried to create a cover path within the hunt group but I cannot get the call to go directly to the cover path unless the phone is on cover.
Is there a way to get the phone to ring say 3 times then if not answered to be passed to the next ext number on the hunt group list without the phone on cover initially?.
I have created a call pick up group in the meantime as a temporary solution when someone calls the hunt group number.
Any thoughts, suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks,

There are 20 extension numbers at the moment. Normally, more gets added as more first aiders are qualified.
cheers.

181077,

what software version are you running? please show what 'list conf soft' command outputs.

An ACD group would fix your needs. Then if someone is away from their phone, they take theirself out of the group and the calls go to the next available member.

Hi Mikeydidit,

I would rather not give these users login id's. (all areas of the business). Can this be done without getting users to login to there phones?
Thanks,

You could create an x-port station, and give each member of the First Aid group a bridged-appearance for the x-port. It would ring all individuals at the same time.

181077,

you can do without having users entering any login codes and such. make this hunt group acd with type ucd-mia and add "auto-in" and "aux-work" buttons to the first aiders phones. after that, instruct them to press "auto-in" button when they're on the phone and press "aux-work" when they leave. nothing too difficult, i think.
also you can use "redirect on no answer" feature to redirect unanswered calls back to the group.

Hi,

Thanks for all of your comments. This has given me a few things to try out.
Cheers,

dwalin's last post are along with my thoughts. The ACD method will just make then hit a button when they want to take calls and aonther button when they go to lunch, break, whatever.

If this is what you deside to do, post if you need help setting it up. Their is not that much to it for you or the users.

Hi,

Just incase anyone would like to kmow I thought it would be good to post what I did to resolve my problem.

I created an x-port station and created a cover path which links to a cover answer group which rings up to 8 extensions simultaneously. I added 2 more cover answer groups to the cover path to ensure that all extensions rang until at least one was answered.

Thanks!.
