Hello all-

I'm wondering if it is possible to compress or some how make the database bit smaller other then running auto archiving. I'm quicly runnig running out of disk space.Does the database gets defragmented automatically? Can I run esutil.exe to make the database smaller? and if so what would be the command line.

Thank you for all your help.

1. Set deleted items retention to a low value and wait until that time has expired.

2. wait for the next online defrag to start, then complete.

3. Perform an offline defrag.

When you delete an item, it is marked and retained for the deleted item retention period. After the deleted item retention period has expired, the online defrag actually deletes the item, however it leaves the whitespace in the database. After online defrag is complete, running an offline defrag removes the whitespace from the database reducing the physical size of the database.

Sorry for the question. But how do I run a offline defrag and where do I find the command lines.

Thanks.
