.htaccess to redirect

hi there I have two domain names

I want to write a .htaccess that will redirect all my visitors from

http://www.mywebsite1.com/folder1

to

http://www.mywebsite2.com/folder2

so that when a user tries to visit

http://www.mywebsite1.com/folder1/test.php?h=43432

he gets redirected to

http://www.mywebsite2.com/folder2/test.php?h=43432

Any clues on what to write?

Replace /newdir/ with the path to the target directory.

RewriteEngine on 
RewriteRule ^$ /newdir/

You could do this in DNS if this was a sitewide change.

The re-write rule you were given only does a redirect within the same domain, you have shown two different domains, right?
