HP UPS Communication Cable

Early Seasons greetings!

Please move it to a UPS forum if there is one but I could not find one.

I'm trying to find out if a serial cable for a HP UPS R/T3000 will work for a R3000 XR and vice versa? I can find the HP Spare number for a communication cable for the R3000 but when I try to search for the R/T3000 all I get is "standard DB9 cable".

If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

Hi,

A DB9 cable is a serial cable, you should be able to use this without any issue.

Assuming they both use a standard pin-out, it should work fine. However, sometimes manufacturers will use special cables. The only ways to tell would be to find the documentation on both UPSes, cut open the cable, or just try it and see. My guess is that it would work.
