I have a win95 peer to peer network...with a printer attached and shared on one station. Does anyone know how to disable the HP spooler that comes with the printer drivers. I've done a ton of troubleshooting and have come to the conclusion that the HP spooler is causing the problem. I have an epson printer which is a workhorse. No problems printing whatsoever. Thanks in advance

go to printers then right click go down to properties then go to details and final spool settings you will find all the spool setting there

Thanks...I did that already...and the HP spooler still is active. Even if I have it set to print directly to the printer. :)

try removing the hp driver and using the windows driver see if that works.

Just to add to what gunthnp suggested, when you are adding the windows driver, remember all those HP printers are backwards compatible - so if you have an HP 5M try using the 4M or 4M Plus driver that comes with windows. Hope this helps ~

Thanks for all the help....I kind of forgot about those windows printer drivers. Guess I'm to tuned in to the cd's that come with the printers. I tried a windows driver this morning and so far so good. I'll do the same when I put the 690 back on the network. thanks again...looks good
