Hi all,
Our VPN connection is too slow to work from any other palce, so I'm trying to make a copy of our Access database which is on a network drive and make every linked ODBS or any other linked tables to be a solely belonged to my copied Access database just for my own purpose. That way I will be able to play with it at home and save my time.

1.Just wondering - if there is any kind of short cut to "unlink" tables? Or do I have to copy and create each table manually?
2. How can I implement changes from my copy to the original database? I mean if there is a tool for comparing two similar Databases and implement the update, some kind tool like an Unmatched Query Wizard but for database maybe?

Thanks in advance!

Valeriya

Is your database already split in FrontEnd/BackEnd ?

Hope This Helps, PH.

Not yet..just the original one seating on network drive.

By the way, is it true that after splitting database, to implement any changes would be much harder? And is it possible to create realtionships after splitting?

Thanks,
Valeriya

After splitting database any changes in queries, forms, macros and modules would be buch EASIER as you may simply replace the old FE by the new one.

But before I split my database I still want to have my own copy with all unlinked tables in order to be able to work from home...and then implement those changes to the original one...
