In Flash MX 2004 Professional, I have created a movie that had several seconds of empty frames on the front end because I wanted the actions in the movie to delay starting for that many seconds. Now I want to reduce that delay by 3 seconds, which means I need to eliminate 36 (i.e., 12x3) frames on the front end of the movie for each layer.

What is the easiest way to delete those frames without having to drag keyframe sections one at a time? Also, is there an ActionScript-1 script for delaying the start of a movie so that empty frames on the front end aren't needed?

Thanks,

Bill

You can easily delete frames by selecting the first one in each layer and pressing Shift F5...

But you could also leave them there, and simply add something like this on the first frame...

this.gotoAndPlay(36);

It would then immediately jump to frame 36, when the movie starts playing...

Thanks, oldnewbie. I like your gotoAndPlay idea. Very elegant.
