I have a real problem, I hope someone can help me. I just purchase a cable service to have high speed internet access.
The problem is I wanted to have Wireless Cable access on my labtop computer. I just purchase an Linsys Wireless DSL/Cable Modem Router with a 802 wireless pc card. I have no Idea on where to start or how to hook-up the system. Does the wireless DSL/Cable Router have to be hook-up to a seperate computer?
Or does the Router only require the Cable modem connection?
I plug my cable modem in the Wireless DSL/Cable Router, do I need to plug the Router into a computer or does it run with a computer? Thanks

The WAN port on the router hooks up to the cable modem via a patch cable.
There is probably a 4 port switch in the router, if you have computers in the same room as the router, you can hook up those to the wired ports.
The wireless card goes into a PCMCIA slot in your laptop. There are also USB adapters which may be easier to use.
for more help go to there are a lot of different sections for help.

Hope this helps,

Ok, Thank you very much for the Link and the Info. Yes the Router has 4 ports. I will take a look at the site and view the setup and support section.
