Hi

I have a Cab file which is not being extracted as it says this file is corrupt. Is there any utility which can repair this file. I searched on the net and found only utilities which repair zip files and not Cab files.

Please let me know from where can I get such a utility.

Thanks,

You could try the following software, I have never tried it but it sounds like what you need!

I have tried that and ZipZag, ZipRepair.

Hi, I got the same problem as balajee above. I got a 429 MB .cab file which is corrupt. Its supposed to be used to install Easy CD & DVD Creator 6 and the first time it did work and when I tried to install it on my second home computer it did not work. So, I tried it again on my original computer where I originally installed it, unistalled the previous install and tried installing it off CD. It did'nt work and said the CD or the cab file is corrupt. So , I first it tried copying the cab file off the CD and no problems here; so the CD is not corrupt. I then opened the cab file from the hard drive with WinRar and tested the archive and it come up with a message saying that the archive is corrupt. Therefore I could not extract the individual files ot of the cab file and create a new cab file.

I then searched for numerous archive repair programs on the internet including google and no luck. Can you suggest any software utility or any tips and guides on how to recover the corrupt files in the cab file please. I would very much appreciate the help as at the moment I do not want to contact a data recovery specialist just yet although I think I will ahve to eventually.
