How to Play Wavs in Access 2000

Hi all,

Could anyone please shed some light on how I can play a wav on an event. I have tried using syntax like
playsound("c:\winnt\canyon.wav&quot and
retval = playsound("c:\winnt\canyon.wav&quot

But Im not getting anything, any help would be really appreciated.

Im getting a little confused and seem to be going around in circles.
