how to do this 1

hello if you go to the following site and notice the buttons at the top of the page

when the user places the cursor over a button several options slide across the screen. I would like to learn how to do this, but so far have not been able to find a tutorial that could help me out. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

sorry I forgot one more thing, the EQ music display in the top right corner, I have seen this on many sites and like it, any sugestions on how I could get started on creating one of these??

Most of those sound waves displays are only faked effects, and do not really correspond to the sound's actual modulations, as in these 2 examples...
