All,

I have approx 20 servers in one location, connected to a media server running BE 10D, with a Dell LTO2 drive. Since I've been here, I changed the backup job to add alot that the previous admin had missed. The servers its pulling data from are all on gigabit, and are in the same rack. I have all the goodies:

4 SQL boxes that pulls live sql backup from (both are mirrored)
2 File Servers
4 Production app boxes it pulls app data from
4 Webservers
1 Exchange server w/ approx 75 boxes
2 Development servers
1 Terminal Services server (only 1 share from it is backed up)

All of this comes to around 350GB +/- 10% nightly. I start my job at 7p and it will finish at roughly 9a the next morning. Is this regular? I don't ever remember 350gb worth of data backups taking that long.

Take a look at the mb/min on each server. This will be in the job log backup set summary for each resource.
If you backing up the exchange mailboxes I suspect you probably find that is what is taking the longest.
